In Türkiye's Isparta region, a major apple producer, FAO's pesticide management project successfully implemented Integrated Pest Management (IPM). This initiative safely disposed of 14 tonnes of illegal or expired pesticides. Field trials with the Isparta Fruit Research Institute demonstrated IPM's effectiveness, reducing codling moth pesticide use by 70% while maintaining 0% fruit damage.

Farmers now use pheromone dispensers, reporting no pesticide application, yield loss, or pest damage. This success has led to widespread adoption and trust in IPM among regional producers, achieving a 70% overall reduction in pesticide use. Neighboring regions are now promoting similar incentives, expanding the project's reach.
