In Baidoa, FAO and the European Union, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, established market-oriented greenhouse gardens for women vegetable producers. These greenhouses enable year-round production of high-value crops through efficient irrigation, increasing yields and incomes. The gardens also serve as learning hubs, building practical skills in protected agriculture and agribusiness, reinforcing women’s roles in local food systems and household livelihoods.
