This video highlights how FAO and the UK PACT programme are helping coastal communities in Cross River State safeguard their environment and build stronger futures. Through the "Integrated Management of Mangrove Ecosystem and Expansion of Social Protection for Fisheries and Forest Dependents" project, about 5 000 people across communities in the state are turning to nature-based businesses like beekeeping, aquaculture, and mushroom farming. The project helped local families ease the pressure on mangrove forests, boost their income, and lead the way in restoring their local coastlines.
