Equal Rights for Women is a major category, like energy or climate change, of sustainability and the voices in this collection are of the present and the past.
If we don't address human rights and social justice of which the sustainability keywords and phrases include children's rights and welfare; human trafficking, slavery, and women's rights and roles, then as David Korten points out, we will not be able to come to terms with the limits of the planet and not even technology will be able to save us.

 September 22, 2026Our future is at risk as fossil fuels drive humanity towards extinction and exacerbate social injustices and climate crises. To create a livable planet and foster a just, resilient future, we need transformative systemic change. Despite inadequate climate action from high-polluting governments and corporations, Indigenous and frontline women leaders are rising to the challenge, turning grief into action. The Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network (WECAN) is releasing a video ahead of COP31, emphasizing the need for a Just Energy Transition and highlighting women-led climate solutions.
