About This Collection
An opportunity to view a curated collection of short videos addressing the basic definition of sustainability and its relationship to global warming. The eight videos total just over one half hour of viewing time. The recommended order is to start with three videos on the definition of suststainability (Merculieff, Cochran and the Survey) followed by the four videos on global warming (Furquan, NASA, Two Green Leaves, SAAMI youth, Merculieff).

NASA scientists utilized 30 years of Landsat satellite data to track vegetation changes across 4 million square miles of Alaska and Canada. Their findings reveal a significant "greening" trend, with 30% of the area showing increased vegetation, while only 3% experienced "browning." This pioneering study, the first to provide continent-scale detail alongside local information, underscores the impact of rapid Arctic warming. Elevated temperatures lead to extended growing seasons and altered soils, transforming tundras into shrublands.
