Professor Theocharis Tsoutsos, from the Environmental Engineering School at TU Crete and founder of the Renewable & Sustainable Energy Lab (ReSEL), shared insights into Rethymno's successful sustainable mobility initiative.

He detailed the H2020 CIVITAS Destinations project, which engaged diverse stakeholders to implement policy-based mobility solutions. This program significantly improved residents' quality of life, enhanced the city's image, and enriched visitor experiences, establishing Rethymno as a 'lighthouse example' for other EU cities.
