Lars Tallert is the initiator of the Sustainable Journalism Partnerthip, Head of Policy & International Development at Fojo Media Institute, and Sweden’s representative to UNESCO’s IPDC Intergovernmental Council and GFMDs representative to ECOSOC. He has 30+ years of journalism and development cooperation experience including advisory functions and consultancies for various groups like the Swedish Prime Minister’s Office, the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs & OECD - OCDE.

? Dr Yemisi Akinbobola is an award-winning journalist, academic, consultant and co-founder of African Women in Media (AWiM). AWiM’s vision is that one-day African women will have equal access to representation in media. Joint winner of the CNN African Journalist Award 2016 (Sports Reporting), Yemisi ran her news website IQ4News between 2010-2014 and holds a PhD in Media & Cultural Studies from Birmingham City University, where she is a Senior Lecturer. She has published scholarly research on women’s rights, African feminism, journalism and digital public spheres. In 2021 she was recognised as one of the 100 Most Influential African Women.

? Guy Berger is Director for Freedom of Expression and Media Development at UNESCO. He is responsible for the Organization’s global work on press freedom, safety of journalists, internet freedom, media pluralism and independence, gender and media, media and information literacy, and journalism education. Before joining UNESCO, he headed the School of Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University, South Africa, and was the deputy chair of the South African National Editor's Forum. He holds a PhD from Rhodes University, has published extensively, and has won several awards.

Judge LaDoris Hazzard Cordell has sat in this room and dedicated nearly five decades of her life to putting justice back into the justice system. As the first African American female judge to serve on the Superior Court in northern California and a trailblazer in many other respects, her years on the bench have put her, in the most literal terms, front and center to the societal microcosm that is the courtroom. In her debut book Her Honor: My Life on the Bench . . . What Works, What's Broken, and How to Change It, Judge Cordell gives an inside look into a judge's chamber. She shares real stories of the trials and tribulations involved in making life-changing, sometimes life-or-death decisions. Further, she presents hard-earned knowledge on the cracks in the system and how we can repair them with institutional accountability and equitable reconfigurations. At INFORUM Judge Cordell will detail a career that has been steadfast and powerful in its advancement of LGBTQ+ rights, police accountability, and elevating of BIPOC communities. Cindy Norcott addresses a very interesting topic of doing business in a generosity-focused manner. She begins her talk by emphasizing that generosity is the new business strategy, and goes on to dive into the concepts of give-and-take, scarcity mindset and goes on to share how she runs her business based on the concept of generosity. Businesses should move from trading with employees on a no-connection base and start becoming more caring with their employees and start investing more in growing their employees. There are a number of strategies to achieve generous-centric business models and Cindy shares a couple of case studies on this topic. Cindy Norcott's experience in business spans 26 years. She founded Pro Appointments and Pro Talent in March 1994. The organizations focus on the placement of temporary, contract and permanent staff in the fields of office support and administration, accounts and finance, Sales and Marketing, IT, Medical, Technical and Insurance. Their team of experienced specialist recruiters work alongside Cindy to cement the organization's core value of having a heart for people. Cindy's interests lie in the business arena. She loves to help people develop their businesses and reach their full potential. Mentoring and coaching business people who are keen on taking themselves and their businesses to the next level, and delivering motivational talks about goal setting, success, motivation and management inspire her to constantly read up on business subjects and inspirational topics. She is the author of "How to be Unstoppable and Achieve more in Business and Life". This book is aimed at motivating people in business to be more focused and disciplined in order to achieve their goals. She also drew on her 20 year business journey and filled the book with lessons that have helped her to live a fulfilled, purpose-driven life. The book was launched two years ago and to date, she has sold more than 5000 copies. Her top three lessons that she has learned are that one needs to have self-belief, a firm commitment to meaningful goals and self-discipline. She founded the Robin Hood Foundation in 2005. Through this NPO, she works with a team of committed trustees, volunteers and a full-time coordinator. Their goal is to address solutions to poverty among the poorest members of society. Through the foundation, they have projects running weekly that aim to distribute resources into the hands of the poor. He's signed executive orders mandating the use of hybrid or flex-fuel vehicles for city operations and recently enacted a “No Idling” policy for city employees, among many more initiatives. Countries worldwide are experiencing disruptions in the functioning of health systems. While the Covid-19 virus does not discriminate, its impacts do – affecting those most fragile and vulnerable. Mass immunization campaigns are being cancelled - newborn babies are at risk. Human health and well-being is closely connected to the health of wildlife, domesticated animals, and our shared environment. The Covid-19 crisis has revealed the fragility of our health and food systems like no other crisis has done in living memory. It is time to reconsider what is most important in our societies, and the relationship between humans, animals and the planet. Learn what we need to change and about returns of long -term investments in health. Hear why we need to fully incorporate the voices, experiences, and leadership of women and of young people for an inclusive and sustainable approach to “Recover Better.” Dr Nata Menabde is Executive Director of WHO Office at the United Nations, New York since May 2015, where she promotes WHO’s engagement with the United Nations system and a broad range of stakeholders to anchor health in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development agenda. Prior to her current role, Dr Menabde was Head of Mission and WHO Representative to India, leading a large team with thousands of dedicated professionals in over 250 offices across the country. Most notably, her tenure saw one of the biggest achievements in public health: a polio-free India. As Deputy Regional Director at the WHO Regional Office for Europe (2006-2010) she successfully led the Region’s work on strengthening health systems, which culminated in the development and adoption of the European Tallinn Charter: Health Systems for Health and Wealth, a decade ago. During this period she was also in charge of WHO’s extensive operations in 35 European countries, including emergency response and post-conflict recovery and rehabilitation. With a solid academic background and an exemplary track record of over 30 years of experience in regional and global health, health diplomacy and health systems, Dr Nata Menabde has shown unwavering commitment to the goal of Health for All. Her current interests are linked to universal health coverage and sustainable development, health and foreign policies, global health governance, emergency preparedness and crises response, health systems performance, as well as addressing public health in other sector policies. Mina Bakhshi, Haniya Tavasoli and Rabia Hussain had a fair amount of latitude for women in Afghanistan, able to pursue their education, go to work, and explore hobbies and interests. Joining Ascend, a nonprofit organization teaching leadership and rock climbing to women, gave them the chance to test their personal and cultural limits and explore the mountains of their home country. But when the Taliban took over in August 2021, Ascend became their one chance to escape a regime that would restrict their freedoms and future. While the women of Ascend were being resettled in other countries with volunteer host families from Ascend’s network—often other climbers wanting to help—Merryn Venugopal and Michelle Pellette, two members of Yosemite Search and Rescue, were also looking to find ways to support fellow climbers in need. They invited the women to spend a week in Yosemite, where they could safely reunite and find solace in the climbing community. Now, as they build new lives in a country separated from their families, the women find that meeting other climbers in Yosemite is also a connection to home. On October 18 Dr. Sharon Blackie explored stories, myths, fairy tales, and archetypes illustrating the transformative potential of time spent in inner inquiry, and how doing so might help to shift the collective mindset. She highlighted ways of using the old stories to reflect on today's challenges.

During this interactive session, we discussed how time spent in solitude and in nature helps us to listen, participate in a reciprocal relationship with the animate world we belong to, and to deepen our sense of kinship. The session concluded with the challenge to attendees: what are the foundational shifts we need to make to participate in the larger possibility of metamorphosis?
