Fiona Oakes, a world-class vegan athlete, proves that plant-based living doesn't hinder elite performance. Vegan since age six, she conquered both the Antarctic Ice Marathon and North Pole Marathon in 2013, despite losing a kneecap at 17. Her remarkable running achievements are fueled by her dedication to animal welfare.

Fiona founded Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary in 1993, providing lifelong care for animals in need. Nelleke's career began in Rotterdam, instilling a "stop talking, start working" ethos. After a PhD from TU Delft, she gained extensive experience in chemical process design in the US and at Avantium Technologies in Amsterdam. Her diverse background honed her skills in innovation and collaboration within the chemical industry.

Mackenzie Feldman, 23, from Honolulu, Hawaii, founded Herbicide-Free Campus to ban herbicides at schools nationwide. Her campaign began at UC Berkeley, inspired by Hawaii's industrial agriculture and its impact on land and people. After an herbicide spraying incident at UC Berkeley's volleyball courts, she successfully initiated a campus-wide ban.

A major achievement was the temporary ban of glyphosate across all University of California campuses. Mackenzie has since expanded her efforts nationally, mentoring students, providing resources, and training them in campaign strategy and alternative maintenance methods. She aims for a toxic-free world, protecting communities and ecosystems from harmful pesticides.

In this talk, 12-year-old climate activist and songwriter Lucy Gray makes a compelling argument for climate justice as humanity's path forward. She discovered her passion in 2017, subsequently forming a climate action group at her school.

When international strikes reached New Zealand, Lucy led the Christchurch strike and founded its local SS4C group. She now co-convenes the national School Strike for Climate NZ team, a student-led initiative urging urgent government action.
