Tulika Nahar's TEDxYouth@DAA talk focused on climate change, outlining communication strategies to compel action rather than avoidance. The event's theme, "Yallah!" (Arabic for "go"), encouraged pushing for change locally or globally, embodying a positive forward momentum despite restrictions.

Unlike previous years, this TEDx event was held entirely on Zoom due to COVID-19 precautions. Despite technical challenges, the TEDxYouth@DAA team successfully delivered a unique and impactful event.

Dr. Andrew Steer, President and CEO of the World Resources Institute (WRI), highlights the evolving global economy, stating, "We have a window of opportunity to break through that inertia." WRI is a global research organization with over 1000 experts working in more than 80 countries, including offices across Brazil, China, India, and the United States.

With a PhD in economics, Dr. Steer brings extensive experience from the World Bank, where he served as Special Envoy for Climate Change and held other senior roles. He is also a Commissioner for the Global Commission on Adaptation, a Global Agenda Trustee for the World Economic Forum, and a member of several key environmental and development initiatives.

Mary Maytwayashing shared the Ojibwe translation and significance of the Nibi Water Song, received in a dream. Cody Courchene presented the Turtle, Black Bear, and Calling In Songs, which were translated by Robert Maytwayashing.

“The circular economy is more natural than we think,” states our speaker, a Doctor of Science from UNAM’s Institute of Geophysics and a Master in Volcanology/Geophysics from the University of Würzburg. She has conducted extensive research at international institutions across France, Australia, Germany, and the U.S., and worked as a consultant in Germany on environmental remediation and energy technology.

Currently, she is a Professor-Researcher at Universidad Panamericana, teaching engineering and languages. As leader of the Doha Environmental Action Project (DEAP) for over 2.5 years, Saucedo has mobilized more than 8,000 volunteers, removing over 102 tonnes of trash from Qatar's shores.
