This video highlights an FAO/WFP training workshop in Rome, where delegates from ten countries committed to enhancing the nutritional quality of school meals. Each representative held an empty FAO canteen tray, symbolizing the existing gaps in school meal nutrition, as they discussed their next steps.
Supported by the German Federal Ministry of Agriculture, the workshop introduced a new methodology for addressing children's food and nutrition issues. Una delegación de Lesotho visitó Huancayo, Perú, para explorar el potencial transformador de la papa, en el marco de la iniciativa Un País, Un Producto Prioritario (OCOP) y la Cooperación Sur-Sur de la FAO. Before Eid al-Adha, the sale and slaughter of millions of animals in Afghanistan heightens the risk of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF), a serious disease spread by infected ticks. As animals can carry the virus without symptoms and there are no vaccines available, prevention is crucial.
With support from the UK and the World Health Organization, FAO collaborated with Veterinary Field Units in 20 provinces to spray livestock markets, treat animals, and raise awareness among herders and traders. This initiative exemplifies the One Health approach, protecting both human and animal health.
