Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant, a renowned conservation ecologist and captivating science communicator, studies apex predators and the relationship between humans, animals, and place. Drawing from her memoir "Wild Life," she shares her journey in science, emphasizing our roles as stewards for nature and community.

A wildlife ecologist researching human impact on carnivores, Dr. Wynn-Grant hosts the podcast "Going Wild" (PBS' Nature) and co-hosts "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom." JP Viñals joined Activists Coming To Inform Our Neighborhood (ACTION) in 2013 to address environmental and social issues in Hunts Point, South Bronx. The neighborhood, home to New York's largest food distribution center, endures 15,000 daily trucks, causing severe air pollution and some of the nation's highest asthma rates.

As ACTION's president, Viñals focused on transforming the defunct 1.25-mile Sheridan Expressway into a vibrant boulevard. This expressway restricts access to the Bronx River and green spaces, forcing heavy truck traffic onto local streets, harming residents and contributing to pollution. ACTION supports a broader campaign to replace it with housing, hospitals, and green areas, leading school presentations and community education efforts.

Utilizing Indigenous knowledge, panelists championed Indigenous rights, self-determination, and climate justice, aiming for a healthy and equitable climate future. The event featured diverse Indigenous youth leaders from regions including Nepal, Turtle Island/USA, Kenya, and Norway.

Its aim is to catalyze national business advocacy on climate policy, uniting policy, NGO, and international business stakeholders to manage risks and seize opportunities in the transition to a low-carbon society.

Building on relationships fostered by Corporate Leaders Groups (CLGs) since 2010, the CLN formally re-establishes collaboration with global business groups. It will support the creation of new corporate leaders' groups worldwide, strengthening the network. Previous members are reinvited to join if their missions align.
