Jeff Mendelsohn, President of New Leaf Paper discusses the historical purpose and rights of the first American corporations, how businesses were intended to serve the public good, and thus builds the foundation for why corporations can be a force for good. Jeff has focused his career on his parallel goals of building a highly successful green business and driving a fundamental shift toward sustainability in the paper industry through his business model. Founding New York Recycled Paper in 1991 and New Leaf Paper in 1998, Jeff has been a visionary leader in the evolution of the green business community.
Glenn Jampol, Presidente, Cámara Nacional de Ecoturismo (CANAECO), speaks to "The Role and Challenges of Certified Sustainable Tourism in Transforming the Travel Industry in Costa Rica." His presentation was part of the panel, Sustainable Tourism Certification - Global Challenges and Opportunities held September 10th as part of the EcoTourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference, Portland, Oregon on September 8 - 10, 2010 sponsored by The International EcoTourism Society (TIES).
In 1985, Glenn founded and created the first "Boutique" hotel in Santa Bárbara de Heredia, Costa Rica, based on the best sustainable standards of the day, Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Plantation and Inn, which is now considered "one of the best hotels in the world," according to the New York Times and Conde Naste Traveler. The hotel also has 35 acres of certified shade grown organic coffee, which is grown, picked, and roasted on premises.

conference sponsored by The International Ecotourism Society (TIES) was
held September 8-10 in Portland, Oregon. Ms. Kennedy-Hill was

The Green Meeting Industry Council (GMIC) is the
premier global community solely dedicated to sustainability in the
meetings and events industry, not only through education but also by
spearheading research, policy and standards. GMIC is a non profit
