AI for Good
Building on Generation Connect's participation in the LDC5 Youth Forum and Youth Track in Qatar, this session highlights the crucial role of young people in driving SDG implementation and digital transformation within Least Developed Countries (LDCs).
With a thematic focus on SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), young speakers will discuss how to ensure an enabling digital environment and meaningful connectivity for LDC youth. The goal is to create genuine opportunities for them to lead, thrive, and prosper in our shared digital future.
The "Partnerships for inclusive and sustainable digital development" Roundtable (SDGs 9 & 17) will be held hybrid on March 29, 2023 (15:00-18:00 CET) in Geneva and online. ITU and WMO co-organize it, supported by UNEP, UNIDO, UN Women.
This event addresses the critical link between green and digital transitions for the 2030 Agenda, aligning with UN Secretary-General António Guterres's call for digital cooperation and planet protection. It will offer policy recommendations for inclusive, green digital transformation, tackling connectivity barriers, and highlighting robust digital infrastructure for climate action. SDG 9 and 17 progress will be reviewed, emphasizing systemic development and ICT-environment collaboration.
