Skyelark Ranch, owned and operated by UC Davis graduate Alexis Robertson and her husband Gillies, utilizes rotational sheep grazing. This practice significantly benefits plant growth, drought resistance, and the climate.

The grazing encourages plant growth, which captures atmospheric carbon dioxide through photosynthesis. This carbon is then stored in the soil, promoting healthier ecosystems and reducing atmospheric CO2 levels.

Ocean acidification, a dangerous consequence of climate change, occurs when the ocean absorbs excess atmospheric carbon. This carbon reacts with seawater, forming acid.

Acidified water erodes the hard body parts of marine life, including coral, bivalves, and plankton, threatening these vital ecosystems.

A recent UN scientific report confirms the world is significantly off track to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. This dire assessment underscores the urgent need for action.

While disaster can still be averted, it requires immediate, collective effort from all nations. This means rapidly phasing out all fossil fuels, beginning with coal. Wealthy countries, in particular, must demonstrate their commitment by presenting clear plans to achieve net-zero carbon emissions.
