A consultation and dialogue session for private sector representatives in food systems will take place on January 21, preceding LARC39. This session offers an opportunity to engage with FAO regional representatives and technical leaders.
Participants will also coordinate to develop a statement outlining the sector's position for LARC39 member countries and select representatives for the main conference in March.

FAO will host a virtual consultation with the Scientific and Academic Sector on January 14, 2026. This online event aims to facilitate an exchange of ideas, allowing the sector to share its perspectives and potential contributions to FAO's work areas.
Participants will draft a statement reflecting the sector's position, to be presented to Member Countries during LARC39. The consultation will also elect spokespersons to represent the sector at the Conference.

The Ibero-American and Caribbean Parliamentary Alliance for Food Security, alongside the #AlimentaciónPrimero Pact, marks a significant political step. Its core aim is to foster national, regional, and global commitments for just, sustainable, and resilient food systems. The initiative seeks to strengthen political and programmatic coordination through strategic planning, FAO partnerships, and promoting the Pact.
A mission to Chile will track these commitments, bolster the Alliance's internal governance, and deepen collaboration with the FAO. It also aims to support Chile's ratification of the #AlimentaciónPrimero Pact, aligning with international parliamentary efforts and preparations for the 2026 World Parliamentary Summit against Hunger and Malnutrition.
