Researcher/Programmer Michalis Vitos and UCL's ExCiteS team developed an app for indigenous Congolese communities to map vital resources and track corporate trespasses. This user-centered technology proved invaluable for protecting both the environment and the planet's most isolated populations.

As a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant, Vitos has spent five years creating innovative mobile tools for semi-nomadic and non-literate communities in the Congolese rainforest.
