It strengthens early warning and response to Rift Valley fever (RVF), a persistent zoonotic disease in Africa. Built under the One Health framework, the RVF DST enhances real-time monitoring and multi-sectoral collaboration across animal, human, and environmental health.

By combining satellite data, climate trends, and field surveillance, the tool predicts RVF outbreaks up to three months ahead. This early insight allows farmers, veterinarians, and policymakers to take preventive action, protecting livestock, livelihoods, and lives. The RVF DST shifts countries from reactive response to proactive prevention, fostering resilient health systems and long-term One Health preparedness.
